Low-Martin House

Low-Martin House
Uploaded by James Gibson on 24 Jul 2017 in WINDSOR

In 2007 this Cotswold English cottage received historical designation. It sits solemnly in the morning breeze and hides secrets. Most residents of the Windsor-Tecumseh riding know the house but not its history: inside its walls Al Capone sat with Windsor-renowned Rumrunner Harry Low; Liberal cabinet minister, Paul Martin Sr., composed his memoirs; and our 21st Prime Minister, Paul Martin Jr., looked for the legendary tunnel to the Detroit River. During the Martin ownership the residence played host to sitting Prime Ministers Lester Pearson and Pierre Trudeau.
